THE SIXTH SENSE- THE INTUITION.

Intuition. and the Sixth Sense. “It is the sunset of life, gives me mystical lore, Coming events cast their shadows before.” The custom of saying Grace at the meals had its origin when a full meal was hardly possible, due to sudden attacks and fights at the hands of enemy. Utter vigilance was the price of their life. Their only means of knowledge was their intuition. It was a way of knowing things directly without inference or use of reason. There were no fast means of telegraphs, phones and all that. They were trained to know by signs, chirping and crowing of birds. Their ears were trained to feel rebounds of hoofs of marching horses. There was a manned tree-post at a height to warn of incoming danger. Their dogs were trained to signal or bark at the oncoming danger. Your mind receives a flash-message, a signal of an event. It forewarns you to be prepared for such an eventuality. That is intuition. On the other hand, sixth sense is a psychic power by concentration. It is deep human ability to warn him about happening of an event. He should be ready for it. You find yourself aware of certain information which you never thought possible. The deeper you go, you can develop mesmerism and all other arts of foreseeing things. All religious heads are seen endowed with psychic power. Abuse of psychic powers leads to madness and many side effects.

CLASSICAL DANCE- THE FABULOUS FEET.

Fabulous Feet. For centuries our dancing schools have provided a home for some of the finest dancers in Bharat Natyam Kathak, Odissi Manipuri, Kuchipudi schools of performing arts. Originally, purpose of the dance was to entertain the royal court. Thereafter dancing schools were formed and concerts were held where any public could visit by having a ticket. There is delight in seeing a dancer with fabulous feet. Bharat Natyam, Odissi, Kathak Kuchipudi Manipuri dancers, Ballerina Geisha have to possess fabulous feet for performing arts. To be a dance critic one has to develop a sense of skill for judging the dancer’s performance. You must have knowledge of the mudra- the movement of fingers with her thumb and understand the dance language of signs and gestures. The Dancer tells her story in the dance. The more you watch, the more you learn. Song, instruments and dance constitute the theme. The viewer watches her technique of dancing, skill and rhythm of her feet.. After we see several performances by different artists, we develop an yard stick to assess the performance of a dancer. You have to see her performance and not her. Her beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Indrani Rehman, Birjoo Mahraj, Mallika Sarabhai, Hema Malini Sonal Mansingh, Uday shankar, are famous dancers of our country.

WHETHER GOD EXISTS? OR IT IS MAKE BELIEF?

DOES GOD EXIST? A devotee once confronted Swamy Vivekanand. Devotee: Have you Seen God? Vivekanand. : No. Devotee: Do you believe God Exists? Vivekanand Yes. I asked the same question to Shri Ram Krisna ParamHams who is my Guru. Whether God Exist? Whether He had seen God? My Guru said God Exists. He has seen God. I believe in my Guru. God Exists. Do not investigate the God. Do not try to go deeper. God is not to be construed as a Being. God is Being itself. God is a being who could not be seen. God is not material or empirical. God is an intractable Mystery. GOD IS GOD. WE ARE POWERLESS TO KNOW HIM. WE CANNOT MEASURE GOD WITH OUR YARD STICK. IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO PRY TO PROBE INTO THE SECRETS OF UNIVERSE. OUR JOB IS TO OBEY. NO QUESTION. It was God who formed all the lands of the world at the creation-time. This God was without exception the Indian God. Our country is thus a home-land of God and that is why it is called the land of God. Himalaya is the dwelling place of Lord Shiva. We can not see Him. We pray him. We feel calm and light. We feel his presence within us. God created five basic elements upon which our life depends. The Sun provides us the energy and light. Without it we would have not existed. Earth carries our burden on its shoulders. Air without which our life would not have existed. Without Water, we would not have survived. The land we have agriculture without which we would not have survived. The earth and its seven billion population is governed with mathematical precision and accuracy. Seasons happen at the appointed time. The Sun sets and rises regularly. There is no mishap or break up of machinery. This is His efficiency. It is difficult to manage a small family of six or seven. Unforeseen incidents always happen in our small family. How He manages this planet of seven billion is beyond our imagination. It proves God exists.

TELLING A LIE OR BLUFFING HAS BEEN A WAY OF LIFE.

Telling lies or bluffing has been a way of life. Take an example about believing in planet signs. Zodiac Signs and their effect on us. Openness and frankness are virtue. There is nothing wrong in reading horoscope columns. The biggest politicians, Businessmen read these columns. But they claim as if they do not know about it. Do you know how much mail comes addressed to me daily?” ”I do not check all. ” “I don’t see them all. ” Sam: “There is no need to be testy.” “Even if you read why make a fuss?” ‘There is nothing wrong in it?” “ I myself like to read it.” All read. Some hide. Some are frank to admit. Some do not. This is human nature. One has to be a good liar. It is an art. If you lie, do it with care that you are not exposed

Bhuj mirror palace, Prag darbar hall and vijayvilas palace of Mandvi are known for their folk culture and decoration. Jamnagar palace is sold out and turned into business offices. Rajpipla palace is on the riverside of Narmada and occupies Government offices. All these places can be developed into sight-seeing spots for Tourists.

IT IS TIME TO HAVE A NEW CONSTITUTION FOR THE COUNTRY.

United we stand. Divided we fall. Rudyard Kipling was an Idealist. His views were Dreams How World should be. He drafted a Model of an Ideal Democratic Country in the form of a book “AN IDEAL CONSTITUTION.” Politics and Idealism do not go together. Many ideal thoughts have to be shelved in the interest of the country. OUR NEHRU FELL FOR THIS IDEAL MODEL OF THE CONSTITUTION. THE COUNTRY HAS PAID HEAVILY FOR HIS DREAM. LET US NOW COME TO REALITY AND SHED THIS DREAM. The country has been attacked by internal feud, racketeers, black marketers etc. Interest of the State comes first. Everything comes last. Too much of personal Freedom to its citizens is seen misused by untoward elements. The law is a game which can be redefined for different people as per their wish. There is excessive liberty to the culprits in the name of principles of Natural Justice. Despite all this, with the existing tools and appliances, within the framework Of the Constitution, administration can be set right. There must be a will. Unfortunately there is no will. All are interested to pass on the buck. Now a stage has come that somebody will have to bell the cat. Political maturity, statesmanship, toughness, assertive attitude and clear thinking on all issues are utmost priorities of the day. Loose Administration- If there is a will, there is a way. Pandit Nehru was an idealist. He dreamt of an utopian ideal state. The Constitution Drafting Committee was headed by Dr.Ambedkar. The Constitution has awarded all powers with the politicals. Parliament is Supreme. All Laws were framed with an escape window. Judiciary is the interpreter of the laws passed by the Parliament. The leaders did not foresee the misuse of liberal provisions of Law. Now the laws can be turned tamed and twisted to serve their ends. The Judiciary is a helpless spectator of the loose administration. Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi had opportunity to overhaul the Constitution in light of the experience gained against loose administration. Nothing was done. They were victims of infighting party-workers. They have let the country turn into a lawless jungle. History will never pardon them. What Churchill said, it seems his prophesy comes true. The fate of the people of India can not be left in the hands of such people.

LONGEVITY----IT IS IN YOUR HANDS.

LONGEVITY- the life span. Nature has prescribed 100 years life-span for human-beings. Variety of factors, genetics, gender, personal life style reduce life. Life-span at Equator zone is 50 to 70 years. Life span in moderate zone is 70 to 80 years. Life span in cold climate zone is 90 years. Similarly food habits also are responsible for reduced life span. Once upon a time, Norway, Sweden, Finland, had highest living standard. Their chief food was cod fish, cod-liver oil with wine. Their life span was 80 years. Reports indicate that south-European countries, Spain, France, Italy Greece consume Olive, Olive oil, and sea-food, with red wine. Life-span of the inhabitants on French Riviera is seen as 90 years. Therefore it can be surmised that olive and olive oil and sea-food And red wine help to enhance life. Above report is based on statistics. Nature has given one foot long candle of life of hundred years to all. Some burn candle in 50 years, some use it sparingly and live 100 years. Much depends on individual diet. Life needs light exercise. Life is to be lived moderately and happily. Anger, short-temper, loneliness and avarice are responsible for short life. Fresh air, sea-life brings health that mocks doctor’s rules. Tension, ill-health disease have to be controlled by medication. In USA, Africa, South America more people die out of obesity and excess food than people dying out of hunger in Africa and other countries. Food intake has to be moderate. “To rise at Six; To dine at Ten, To sup at Six; To sleep at Ten, Makes a man live for ten times Ten.”

It removes toxins from the blood, and converts the toxins into substances to be eliminated from the body. Liver produces bile which contains detergent like substance essential for digestion. The bile absorbs the dietary fat. Other Vitamins are also absorbed by the bile. The Doctor prescribes drugs to treat human disease. Such a drug is chemically modified by the liver to treat the disease. Liver converts the food we eat into chemicals essential for life. During digestion, the gall bladder releases bile into small intestines through the duct. Gall bladder disorder can be prevented by avoiding high fat and cholesterol prone foods. By maintaining a well-balanced diet and avoiding high cholesterol food formation of gallstone can be prevented. DASH DRESS AND ADDRESS HAVE TO BE BIG. Dress Projects the Man Taller Than He Is. Dress infuses him with confidence and vigor. Dress speaks of his stature and place of Origin. Dress Speaks for the Wearer. Dress creates an air of Aura around him. From Tokyo to Shanghai to Hong Kong to Bombay to Paris to London to NY to SF, fashion lovers are seen wearing same design suit through out the world. Fashion changes frequently. Old fashion reappears over and again. Barack Obama and Ho Jintao wear top best suits. A sneak peak into Chinese Luxury men’s clothier that sells suits to world dignitaries reveals that fashion may change but their wardrobe’s power signals rank. In Equator zone, the salaried man sheds his jacket and the tie. It is hard to sell suits in a country where it is believed that one who is wearing a suit is a businessman, and one without is a nobody. Dress-code changes from climate to climate. In cold weather countries pinstripe suits are a fashion. Much of the corporate world has left gold cuff-links home. Starched shirt is the dress-code item with shining dark suit. In the White House formality starts at the top. If the President does not wear a suit, his image is lost as incongruous with the lavish décor of the oval office. Shining black shoes is a must. Any man may be in good spirit when he is well-dressed. Jimmy Carter’s cardigans did not inspire the desired image in the eyes of the public. Though a worthy man he ended up in one term. Rank is a beautifier, but with best clothes, he commands owe and respect.

STOP WASTEFUL GOVERNMENT EXPENDITURE.

Stop this wasteful expenditure. The Public has the right to ask the government to stop wasteful expenditure. The money they are spending is tax-payer’s money. It can not be wasted at their sweet will on anything and everything. For example: Spending after the accused a sum of rupees in lakhs a day is not justified. They should be treated on par with other criminals. 2.Reports indicate that 26/11 bodies of the dead militants and others were kept in the morgue for evidence. Evidence Act prescribes perishable evidence and its method of dealing with it. There is no need to stretch the things so far where provision exists. The security afforded to political leaders and other dignitaries needs to be stopped. The VIPs are in a position to arrange for their security. Government need not spend tax- payer’s money after them. Half of the police personnel are engaged in security of Ex- out of post so called VIPs. Air-travel and foreign tours of all political leaders delegations have to stop. They may go at their own cost and not at tax-payer’s cost. The Governors, ministers have been spending huge sum after renovation, furnishing their official residence. It has to be maintained as per austerity standard. If any one wants extra-facility, it has to be at his own cost. Comptroller & AG should monitor all Government expenses above rupees one lakh. He should recover wasteful expenditure. There should be no interference in his duties.

STATUE OF LIBERTY.

 “You will find something more in woods than in books. Trees and stones will teach you that you can never learn from Teachers.” (Statue of Liberty) Lady Liberty Lives at Ellis Island, N.Y. 10004.USA. The Statue of Liberty is the Gift of the People of France. The Statue has greeted millions of immigrants who came to USA. It has continued to greet millions of tourists every year since 1886. Designer of Eiffel tower Alex Gustav designed the iron frame work that supports the copper statue. The pedestal was designed by Richard Morris at the NY harbor. Since the cost of statue exceeded its budget, it was shred by France and USA. It was shipped from France in pieces in 214 crates. In 1886, President Grover declared open the Statue of Liberty and said: “Lady Liberty Lives Here.” It is the largest statue ever built. It measures 305 feet including the base and the pedestal. It has 354 steps up the spiral staircase. 200 replica copies of Statue of Liberty have been made and shine at the gates of various States of USA and other world countries. The Statue of Liberty was renovated at the instance of President Regan in 1986.

Music is a pleasing sound with melody and harmony. Folk music or country music is an ornament in the culture of the country. Pop music is also seen as popular these days. Music has the charm to soothe a savage beast. It binds the wandering sense, And calm the troubled mind.

“YONDER SITS THE FOURTH ESTATE.” Newspapers, media and information agencies are named the Fourth Estate. Newspapers play a crucial role in Peoples’ lives. Newspapers are an addiction, we subscribe in fives. If a dog bites a man, it is not News. If a man bites a dog, it is News. All is News that is fit under the Sun. News like squirrels Run. Suspense in News is Torture. The Press lives by Adventure. “I have wandered East. I have wandered all the-way, Through many a weary way. But can never never forget anyway, My love for newspaper which I cannot put away.” Newspapers always excite our curiosity. No one ever lays down one without a feeling of necessity.

In the name of discipline, healthy suggestions are not heard. Shashi Tharoor can not fit in the frame of party discipline. Blind Party discipline has ruined the country. No genius would like to be a Yes Man. The country is full of lot of Yes Men crowding all around. Let Administrators run the Administration. Political leaders have crowded the administration. They are good as agitators and slogan shouters. In every Ministry, there is a Minister sitting at Top. There should be no Ministry. It should be Secretariat. There should be no Mantralaya. It should be Secretariat. “For forms of Government, let fools contest; Whoever administers best, is best form of Government.” In Nehru’s time Judges were appointed as Governors and Ambassadors. Justice MC Chagla for instance and many others. There is only a single isolated incident, Justice Fatima failed as Governor. She invited Jay Lalita to form ministry in Tamil Nadu against Rule of Law.. Judges can be better administrators. Services of Retired Judges can be utilized for important policy making posts. The country has turned out into a bunch of Amichand. Police, Politics and Mafia join their hands. Interference in every field by political parties has taken the Country to new heights of corruption. Opposition want to be the PM and want to grab power Opposition have not the interest of the country at Heart. They suffer from jealousy envy of the ruling party. They all want power at any cost. For power they are ready to cut throats of millions. They exploit the masses to revolt at the first available opportunity. For power they can join hands with Enemy. For power they can go at any length. The Country had enough of politics. Now let us have some good administration. Unless some drastic action is taken to curb powers, influence of political parties and its office bearers, Country will not recover. Let the bunch of good administrators administer the country.

WHAT IS SMUGGLING?

What is Smuggling? Import-Export is the backbone of our country. There are two laws discrete. (1)The Law for men. (2)The Law for things. When things are exported there is Export duty to pay before sending goods to a foreign country. When anything is imported from any foreign country, there is import duty to pay. Customs duty is thus chargeable on (2) above.Law for things that is-goods. Any act or omission for goods liable for confiscation under Custom Act is Smuggling. Goods include Vessels Aircraft and Vehicles, Baggage, currency, negotiable instruments, any other kind of movable property. Movable property includes chattel. (1). Illegally bringing into India a boat load of refugees is Not an act of Smuggling. It relates to (1).Law for Men. Immigration. (2). Illegally bringing into India a boat load of horses is an act of Smuggling. Horses are chattel. Horses are covered under Chapter I. of Customs Tariff. (3). Illegally bringing into India US $ 20,000 is an act of Smuggling, currency being goods as listed above. (4). Illegally taking out of India,Antiques rare painting, Rare coins is smuggling as they are goods as stated above.

WINSTON CHURCHILL SERVED IN BANGLORE AS ARMY MAN.

The Great Winston Churchill was a Second Lieutenant in British Army at a salary of 450 sterling,posted at Banglore. WINSTON CHURCHILL. (1874 to 1965.) He saw military action in India. He was a good polo-player. He was transferred and served in India in 1896 to 98 end, to fight the Afghan war. He was a second Lieutenant. Despite all the unforeseen payments, he made a million. He was thereafter busy on his way to make a billion. As against this, his friend Ram is very busy, 24/7 a week. He is busy paying car installment and house installments.

KNOW THE SYMPTOMS OF A HEART ATTACK.

INDIAN CIVIL SERVICE. The President rules the country. The PM governs the country. The Civil Service administers the country. A coterie of civil service official forms the PMOs office, and the secretariat run the administration of the country. It is therefore necessary that gem of the country’s intelligentsia may be selected by the UPSC. In reality the situation is exactly the opposite. Readers may remember that last year with the change in the Government in June 2014 the UPSC cancelled the entire process of recruitment and selection in final stage on flimsy ground of the Hindi Speaking candidate representation etc. Anybody can put two and two together and come to the figure four, that is the new ruling party wants his people in the list. Before appointment to such posts, there should be thorough scrutiny of antecedents. Integrity, merits have to be considered and evaluated for such posts. Transparency in selection is a must. The impact of the deeds/misdeeds of such civil servants affect the interest of a billion people. “May the pen of the civil servants may not ruin what the country attained with great exertions.” They have to be true spokesmen of the policy of the Government.

THE HEIGHT OF ABSENTMINDEDNESS-an Illustration.

The Height of absent-mindedness. This attitude is seen among artists writers and celebrities. They are involved in their own world of ideas and whims. They eat drink mechanically. Their mind is traveling elsewhere. Teaching a Fish to Swim. How would you feel in such a position? My friend Mary was returning to India from a long stay in USA. She found herself some time to spend at Heathrow airport. She bought a cup of coffee and a small pack of biscuits. She staggered laden with luggage to an unoccupied table. She was reading when she felt aware of some rustling at her table. From behind her paper she saw a neatly dressed young man helping himself with her biscuits. She not wanting to make a scene,leaned across and took one for herself. A minute or so passed. More rustling. He was enjoying a second biscuit. By the time they were down to the last piece, she was real angry. She could not bring herself to say anything, out of embarrassment. Then the young man broke the remaining last biscuit into two, passed half across to her. He ate the other half. He then left leisurely. She was fuming all the while,quite red. When the desk-team asked her for boarding pass. Imagine her state of mind when she opened her handbag. Her biscuit packet was lying there mocking at her. She exclaimed “Oh No!

ALL THEY NEEDED WAS A CELLPHONE INTERNET COMPUTER AND A CAR. THE WORLD IS IN THE POCKET OF INDIAN YOUTH. THE INDIAN YOUTH HAS TO SCALE THE SEAS AS INDIA HAS A LARGE COAST-LINE. THEY ARE BOLD FEARLESS DEVILS. VACATE THE PLACES AND GIVE THEM A CHANCE, SOONER THE BETTER. EXPLOIT THE INTERNET. THE CELL-PHONE IS YOUR 
SECRETARY. THE MODERN AMENITIES HAVE CHANGED THE WORLD. We were mentally poor. We have to come out of this poor mentality. Even Anil has this defect. Both these brothers have studied at Wharton but have not come out of it. We suffer from inferiority complex. In the pre-independence days brainless 25 year Boys of Britain ruled over India. Indian Kings and all used to fall at their feet for favours. England is just like say one of our states in area. These Britain Boys arrived in the docks of Bombay at an age of 18, to rule. There was no place for them in England. It was all filled up with progeny of Lords and all big dignitaries. These young boys were given a chance to prove their ability. They gave vent to their whims and imagination. They were about 3000 ICS officers and 20,000 army personnel as officers. The field and clerical staff etc were recruited from within the country. The soldiers were also recruited from within the country. Battalions were put under charge of British army officers through out the country. They represented challenge, adventure and found the fulfilment of dreams. This was denied by their country because of their limited resources. These 23000 fellows governed the length and breadth of Greater India. These fellows emptied the treasures of India. They organized to send ship loads of opium tea, antiques, jewels, gold etc. The returning ships brought cigarettes, whisky, textiles etc. to sell in India.

THE COMMON MAN AND THE SPIRALING PRICES.

Spiraling Prices and Common Man. “Misery acquaints people with strange bed-fellows.” ManMohan Singh was then in the Planning Commission. It was in the year 1983. He was in the lawns of Circuit House. I asked him. I :- “Today the rupee is worth 22 paise, a Rupee. What happens when rupee will be zero paise a Rupee? He looked at me if it was the silliest question he was asked. With his hand on his beard, and a cup of tea in the other, he replied. ManMohan: “Nothing happens.” “The Unit will be two rupees.” “It will be two rupees worth hundred paise and so on.” He was unmoved with the falling of the unit of currency, the rupee. Today the unit of currency is ten rupees worth a hundred paise. The rulers do not bother. It is taken as a natural phenomenon. The downfall of the unit of currency has taken a toll of the common man. Sugar is sold at Rs.40. In Morarji’s time it was Re1.75 a kg. in 1978. The Agriculture Minister is the Sugar King. He is responsible for the rise in prices of agricultural commodities. Food items are the basics for a population of a billion. There is an all round increase of prices in all fields. Government raises their hands in helplessness. Then what for the government is if it can not address basic ill of the country?

In practical life something more than just grades is required. It is your guts, insight, audacity bravado daring way that counts. It is not important how much money you make in life. It is important how much money you keep in your life. We come across cases of stock market winners who were poor. Suddenly stock market winners become rich, then poor again. They win millions and were soon back to where they began. If you want to be rich you should be financially literate. You have to lay emphasis on the art of mastering financial literacy. You have to have a solid foundation of financial insight into it. One has to master the art to learn the intricacies of financial trend. The words assets and liability makes sense only to an accountant. Asset is your capital having commercial or exchange value. Liability is the claim on your assets. In actual life definition of asset is in numbers. What defines an asset is not words but numbers. If you cannot read the numbers, you cannot tell an asset. It is called the need of learning the art of comprehension. Therefore the successful ones acquire assets and we acquire liabilities. Asset is something that puts money in my pocket. Liability is something that takes money out of my pocket. Therefore you have to master the art to buy asset and not liability If you are having difficulty in your business, you are not reading numbers. To be rich and to stay rich, you have to be financially literate in numbers. You have to monitor the cash-flow like a flow of drinking water in a cistern. Profit and loss measures income and expenses. You do not work for money but money works for you.

Opportunities in Life. During his life-span man comes across opportunity. He has to be alert or receptive to grab the opportunity. No man can climb the ladder to success without a basis. An opportunity in life gives you the basis for a successful life. Many men have been seen grumbling about having no opportunity. Many men wait for opportunity happen to them in their life. Everyman’s innermost desire is for something to happen. They turn a despairing gaze over the solitude of their life, seeking some white sail in the masts of horizon of life. But nothing happens. They have been saying that God had willed it so. To them their future is a dark corridor with its door closed. What you have to fear is fear itself. You are afraid of the insecurity of life. You do not take an initiative or risk in life. Take a lesson from the life-style of others. Give yourself a position not less than that of Anil. Try to respect your self first and foremost. SILENCE IS GOLDEN.

Importance of Observing Silence. “Mahatma Gandhi during his lifetime, observed Monday as the day of his observing silence. He spoke nothing at all for one day and observed silence. He believed that keeping himself silent was a way to bring order to the Mind.” If circumstances required the Mahatma to convey something, he would write it on a paper. No talking for 24 hours is an impossible job unless one has an iron will and steel determination to observe silence. No talking is extra hard for regular people who are talkative. People are seen to talk about almost anything and everything, Including baseball, basketball, cricket, music, movies, politics and anything under the sky. In reality, if one has to shut up for five minutes, it is very difficult, if not impossible. You will feel the top of your head about to explode. People keep talking for the sake of talking so that their presence may be felt. He feels by talking he is in charge of the situation. It is sort of like behaving like a police officer out in the middle of the traffic. After passing a full day of silence, your mind will enable you to speak the right words. Your small words uttered in a routine way will sound to others as orders. Every word you speak counts. Choose power words. Singing is not talking. We can sing together. We can not talk together. Silence is golden. Silence is eloquent. Too much of talking drives the other people crazy. Do we call ourselves civilized? We would project as a miserable aimless directionless mob. When we are together in a procession, we do not shout, wave, yell and hoot at friends who are passer-by. At a meeting we do not whisper and giggle and point out and wave and laugh at our silly jokes. And when we are together at the lunch table, it is not free-for-all festival to blab. Lunch is a time to sit and be quiet and eat.

SCRAP-SHIPS

SHIP BREAKING YARDS. At the end of their sailing life, ships vessels and floating structures are sold as scrap for their steel. Greece is the place where auction of such ships takes place. A ship for breaking is sold ordinarily between two to five million US dollars. The Principal purchaser are generally shaikhs in Dubai. They buy such ships for ship-breaking, making payment in US dollars. Such ships are sent to ship-breaking yards-say Alang ship-breaking yard, Bombay, Sachana etc. In India they have their syndicate in New Delhi runs this business. The Syndicate pays the Principal in kind by exporting equivalent valued foodstuff butter cheese,grains pulses-in short everything as indented by the Principal. After fulfilling customs formalities ship-breaking takes place in under-developed countries Bangladesh, Pakistan India China etc. Such ship breaking activity turns our green good sea-beach into dirty graveyards. Such ships brought for ship-breaking also contain hazardous material like asbestos lead paint,PCBs (poly-chlorinated biphenyls) in engine oils. During the process of scrapping hazardous poisonous gas is found released in the environment. Every year about 700 such ship are taken out of actual sea-faring and put into auction for scrapping. About 300 such ships account for our share in ship-breaking approximately. Such ships ordinarily travel under flag of convenience available at cheap rates from countries like Panama, Malta Cyprus etc. Ship masters have the right to sail under any flag they choose. Ships are registered in such countries where rules are not strict. Shipping companies and ship-owners remain incognitio -their origin can not be traced. Everything is done by petty contractors middlemen etc. They make huge profits from selling such old ships but do not bear the burden of undertaking a follow-up clean break-up of the ship. Here they raise their hands. The International Maritime Organization has issued clear cut guidelines for follow up action till completion of the breaking process by the sellers of such old vessels. In our country, the Honorable Apex Court of India rendered yeoman's service by issuing guidelines on lines of the IMO plus the Lordships have also issued directives that prevents dumping of hazardous wastes in the country, and the ship has also to be delivered with 'gas free for hot works' certificate as per Indian Laws. Their Lordships have stressed that the Basel Convention was applicable to export of such ships to our country as it amounts to one and the same thing like export of hazardous materials to our country; and that 'gas-free for hot work' should be made compulsery for the ship owner and that no ship be given permission to beach unless such certificate is produced. Any explosion irrespective of the certificate should result in cancellation of the plot holder's license and the Explosives Inspector prosecuted. The Pollution Control Board has issued instructions to observe the said precautions. It has also directed to remove asbestos and other hazardous waste on board of the ship and store it at a landfill in the hinterlands adjacent to the ship-breaking yards. This directive is uncalled for as it does not address the illegalities of import of such hazardous wastes into the ship-breaking yards. Many agencies have visited the ship-breaking yards of Alang, Bombay to monitor environmental pollution. Syndicates have very long hands and everything has remained on paper. There is complete ban on diamond polishing in the western countries being hazardous to health. They send all their diamonds for trimming polishing shining to underdeveloped countries. There is complete ban on manufacture of synthetic organic dyestuffs being hazardous to the environment. Such SODyes are manufactured in India. They import it from India. Pollution Control Board and Courts have issued innumerable guidelines but they are of no avail. Time is now ripe for public awakening. At a little distance from Alang, at Pipavav, the Japan Car manufacturing company financed the Delhi syndicate for establishing a modern ship breaking yard. This ship-breaking yard is now ready but it is delayed for want of last minute green signal from the Government. As per arrangement, every year Japan renders 200 vessels for scrapping. These vessels would be scrapped at Pipavav. The cut steel would go Japan for use in their automobile plants. This arrangement was done during the earlier regime between 1985 to 90. Now that this party has come to power, it will be shortly commissioned. In short it is time now to enforce the directives issued by the Honorable Supreme Court of India. In Japan their Government have refused permission to establish a ship-breaking yard in Japan sea-waters. India welcomes everything. This state of affairs has to stop now.

ENORMOUS SCOPE OF MEDICAL TOURISM IN INDIA.

MEDICAL TREATMENT IN INDIA. There was a time when you could run a clinic with a doctor and one nurse. But the urban healthcare has undergone such a huge change that the earlier scenario might sound straight from the middle ages. The high-end hospitals are run more like luxury hotels and offer quality treatment. This coupled with cutting-edge research has ensured a plethora of job opportunities for the aspirants. So while the investment bankers or software engineers were left grappling with the pink slips this year, healthcare not only grew but continued spawning many industries. Healthcare IT, health insurance, hospital management, pharmaceutical, medical devices to medical tourism are just some of them. "There are four factors changing the face of medicine - corporatization, availability of high end technology, rise of medical insurance and rigorous government initiatives in the rural India," Currently it is estimated to be a USD 35 billion industry, it is expected to reach USD 150 billion by 2017. While world class treatment is becoming almost a norm in high-end hospitals, the cost of treatment is still way less than the developed countries. It costs a tenth and sometimes a sixteenth of what it does in the West. Thanks to this the medical tourism is the fastest growing segment of the tourism industry. It will attract 1.1 million patients by 2015. This means that healthcare management would become a sought after area as one needs competent professionals to deal with the marketing, operational and administrative side of the high-end hospitals. The areas which are seeing maximum growth and ground-breaking research are reproductive medicine, plastic surgery, endocrinology, oncology and cardiology. Apart from this, newer specialization are also in the pipeline. Emergency service has long been a recognized specialization in the developed countries. Recently, the Medical Council of India (MCI) gave it thumbs up and colleges across India have been notified to offer it as a post graduate discipline. Geriatric medicine or the care of the elderly is another area to watch out for in the future. "While it is already in existence in countries such as USA and UK, in India it would require more attention as life expectancy is on a rise and so are the ailments associated with the elderly," While the cities seem to be getting the best of the healthcare, the government has taken initiative to address rural areas as well. In order to attract more doctors to the peripheral areas, incentives in terms of salaries and reservation in post graduate seats are on offer. But there is a major roadblock which most aspirants have to deal with - the lack of postgraduate seats. If there is heavy bleeding from wounds, stop bleeding. Call emergency van. If there is head injuries, look for lump, wound, cut. pain or unconsciousness. Do not remove objects like glass splinters nail etc from wound. Call medical help. 4.Food poisoning. Food quality, when in doubt, throw it out. 5.Electric injuries. Make sure electric current is off before touching the victim. 6.Allergic reaction. Look for blisters, sneezing red face swelling of tongue ears face. 7.Fainting. let him sit down head between the knees. Do not give any drink. Poisoning. Blood vomit. look for container, keep it. Call emergency. no time waste. Disasters like flood fire earthquakes. Choke out a basic line of action in your mind. It is the job of the head of the family to have plan for eviction in such times. ENGLAND- A KINGDOM WAS LOST WITH FREEDOM OF INDIA.

A kingdom was lost. Jawahar Lal Nehru. Every 14th November we celebrate Pandit Nehru’s Birthday. He was the First Prime Minister from 1947-to 1964. He was the son of Motilal Nehru. He was sent to England at 16. He stayed there for 8 years. He studied Latin, playing Cricket at Harrow. He studied science and read Canterbury Tales of Chaucer at Cambridge. He was great social success in English society. He moved easily through their drawing rooms absorbing English values and culture. So complete was his transformation that he was an English-man when he returned to India at the age of 24. Nehru applied for membership at local English Club, at Allahabad. He may have been a product of Harrow and Cambridge, but to the Club, he was an Indian and was denied admission. And that was the end of the British. This bitterness of rejection motivated him to join Congress. He accepted Gandhiji as Guru. Gandhiji would not accept him so easily. He asked Nehru to tour India and report what he saw, and his views, on all he saw. Nehru set out on a tour of the country which inspired him to write Discovery of India.

WILD LIFE SMUGGLING.

Wild Life smuggling. The Punishment is too Soft. Man Caught at Air Port with 44 Lizards in his Pants. In New Zealand. A German traveller stuffed 44 small lizards into his underwear before trying to board a flight has been sentenced to prison for plundering the country's protected species. He will spend 14 weeks behind bars and must pay a 5,000 New Zealand dollar ($3,040) fine before being deported to Germany as soon as he is released. He was caught by wildlife officials at Christchurch International Airport on South Island in December, about to board an overseas flight with 44 geckos and skinks in a hand-sewn package concealed in his underwear He admitted trading in exploited species without a permit and hunting absolutely protected wildlife without authority, pleading guilty to two charges under the Wildlife Act and five under the Trade in Endangered Species Act. He could have faced maximum penalty of NZ$500,000 ($355,000) and six years in prison. The geckos may have been worth 2,000 euros ($2,800) each on the European market. He had also been to New Zealand in 2001, 2004, 2008, and 2009. In 2008, he had been with a Swiss reptile dealer.

A BATH IN COCOANUT OIL-FILLED DRUM.

Cocoanut Oil Bath. A scene on the brinks of (Kozhikode) Calicut, on the sea-shore of Kerala India. “There are sheds wherein one shed is increasingly getting popular. It performs the Kaya-Kalpa (body renovation) ceremony. You are soaked in Oil in a drum for hours. A wooden drum is filled with coconut oil. You are dumped in the drum and soaked and suffocated in oil from head to toe. Two men drag you out. You lie on a mat in sunshine in open in the sands. When the body has absorbed the oil, again the same cycle is repeated. You are put on the mat to dry. In the process you swallow a lot of oil. They clean the nose, ears and the stomach. A thin layer of cloth is passed through the nostrils. When the stomach is washed, you will find sickening sticky cough and beetle nut pieces and such other things recovered from the stomach, weighing about a kilo. This is a process from morning to evening. It is like servicing the human body. The bowels released vicious stored gas and secretion. After the process is over, you are advised to take rest and very light food for a week.” In the olden days before 50 years, the charge was INR 5000. Now it may be ten times. My father had it done. I had been with him in childhood. He lived ten years longer. Cocoanut- is God’s Gift. A boon to us. Green Cocoanut. Cut-opened with a knife, in front of you, put a straw in the carved hole to sip the cocoanut milk. The inner cream can be scraped with a spoon. Dry Cocoanut. When the coconut matures, its sweet water is nectar for human health. The brown fibre, husk is pulled out and used in coir industry. Grated or used for its milk, turned into candies, rice delicacies, and decorating Indian food dishes. When cocoanut green layer turns brown, and dry, the cocoanut surface cover turns hard like a rock. The sweet water inside is life giving water not found in any other fruit. The matured fruit inside has to be pulled out from the hard shell. It is allowed to dry and is the cocoanut fruit which bears coconut oil. The husk has many important uses for ropes. The hard shell is turned into cups, used in many ways. The trunk of the cocoanut tree is used as lumber. The leaves are used to make broom, used for roofing or making bags. The cocoanut tree is called the Tree of Life. Cocoanut Oil is edible and it has many other important uses.

It somehow transports millions to and from work, water gurgles from the standing pipes in the slums. Electricity goes on and off during the day is common. In the midst of odds, they find work in hundreds of thousands of workshops, small cottage industries, tiny stores and stalls, shoeshine kits, and rickshaws. There are many thin, underfed people about, but no one is starving. Even more remarkable is the fact that human conduct in Kolkata despite its cracks and difficulties, has not degenerated. It is a big cultural centre of the country. Bengali poets dramatists, dancers have surpassed everyone in their creativity. Crime in Kolkata is minimum in comparison to other cities. The street sleepers do not cause trouble. They save every rupee to send their family in the villages. An enormous sense of responsibility guides the lives of these poor people and gives Kolkata a soul that other cities might envy.

Now again three buttons coat is in fashion. Checks suit were in demand. Now dark suit with blue or grey check-shirts is in fashion. Different designers have different ideas about norms in fashion. In fact there are no such water compartment norms. What sells and what is popular is the norms. They change the collars in size and slips in the sides and so on. He visits every department and sorts out surplus items and puts them on sale with his autograph and all that stunt to raise money. The Butlers and Julia Roberts are jobless and hunting for roles in other countries. The Pats and Priyankas and SRKs, in awe of their white skin, pamper and dance and entertained them in their houses. The poor people have no houses to live by. Religious institutions should provide drinking water to the poor. Solving the drinking water problem is easy. In every village, there were old wells, step-wells, artisan wells which have become obsolete because of lack of maintenance. They have to be located and repaired and made fit to store water. It will cost less than to make new wells, step-wells or artisan wells for the village. Old wells, step wells have to be recharged so that water-streams that brought water in the well could be revived. This would cost less than making new wells. Depth of old wells and step wells has to be bored deeper to reach lower level of flowing water inside, to fill them.

The world is their place. Now the pattern has changed. Every sage has a fixed headquarters. He has telephones cell-phones internet and fleet of cars, provision of security guards. They enjoy all luxury of life. All sages have arms-licence to hold arms pistols and revolvers in the name of self protection. Religion has turned out a profession. It is a business service station and a repair shop. Now temples have turned out places of business. They are not places of religion. In the name of religion it is a meeting place of people to trade business talk business and conduct business. They have politicians as their supporters. The government machinery is at their disposal. Everybody is subject to religion. No man is above religion. Religion is inter-woven in the life of every one. None can dare to oppose the religion. The sky is the limit for the religious heads for everything.

SMALL MEASURES DON'T HELP. DRASTIC MEASURES ARE THE NEED OF THE DAY.

Parliament has turned more or less an expensive big house, where more or less it is a resting place of idlers. Country expects everyone to do his duty. If this dictum were followed, Country will be at the TOP. India has not asserted itself as a world country in International matters. Indian Diplomats have failed to project India as a super power player in the 21st century. At the back of everything, there is lack of diplomacy and farsightedness in each issue.

The tattoo marks are the memory of their company and good old days they passed together. Tattooing is for self-protection. An emblem of a deity on the arm endow him with courage. He is not alone. The deity is with him to protect. Hanuman on the wrist is a common sign in India for men. A tattoo is a girl’s friend. She does not feel lost and lonely. The tattoo sign of her faith is present to protect. Some pierce their skins with different signs and figures of past memory. Tattooing was an ancient custom as a mark of identification of a particular person. Now it has turned out a fashion. Some do it as a token of love for her lover to emboss his or her name on her body. They take pride in exhibiting such tattoo marks. Some hide it but all have it these days. The Pain. They undergo pain to express their love. Big stars, singers have prominent tattoo marks on their body. They all love tattoos as they love their lover. They take a plunge in the world of pain. Prominent starlets have at least about ten tattoos inscribed on her body. Images of Marilyn Monroe, Rock Hudson, Elvis, James Stewart and so on. Fans of movie-stars, singers get the images of their favourites tattooed on their body for inspiration. Tattooing has turned out a very lucrative and roving business. Angelina Jolie carries on her body a dozen such marks. Most of them relate to different culture and known places. She exhibited on her bare back a Buddhist prayer in Cambodian script. Similarly Jessica Alba has a tattooed figure of a bow and arrow on her back. She has a sign OHM on her wrist. Some stars claim that they were infected with Hep C an infectious disease causing inflammation in liver. This can be caused by contaminated needle while piercing the skin and inserting pigment for colourization. According to Health administration rules an artist has to have a diploma from a recognized tattooing institute to practise this art. He is supposed to take out a licence and is subject to frequent inspection by the health authority. But all these rules are on paper and no agency takes action against unlicensed shops.

PUBLIC LIFE- THE FIRST STEP TO PUBLIC LIFE BEGINS FROM SCHOOL DAYS.

I was shy in my school days. We had a man servant Abdul. He had to drop me to school and pick me up from school when the school time was over. In the school I was considered an average shy type of a boy. I was not recognized in the first ten of the boys and girls who got special attention by the school authorities. I remember one incident that I can not forget. In the school debating competition, at the school level boys and girls from all elementary level were asked to speak their views, for and against a given subject. The subject was about the country attaining independence. All the participants spoke in praise of the subject and about the progress the country made after independence and all that. The Principal commented that there was no participant to speak against the given subject. This stirred up my blood. I marched to the stage and started addressing the students against the subject. I criticized the administration for indecision, chaos and lack of law and order, lack of basic amenity for life to most of the people of the country. I insisted that there should be compulsory military training for all from the school level. I spoke ill about a few leaders for scandal and scams as I knew from general talk, about their personal life behaviour and scandals. This inflamed the audience. The Principal was annoyed and asked me to sit down. After the debate was over, the class boys hood-winked me and beat me and torn out my books and cap and clothes and manhandled me for my disrespect for the country. At the relevant time in Parliament debate had lasted for four days about the national slogan Satyamev Jayate or SatyamevJayati. I said they should toss the coin and decide it and do not waste public time for such issues and it should be used for other good work for the people of the country. When I came home, seeing my condition in torn clothes and torn books, mother straight away beat me without asking what had happened. Till date I do not know what was my fault. I started writing a wall paper. I would take a full size art paper. From the newspapers like Blitz, Illustrated Weekly, Film Fare, Times, Express I would write important news, items of joke, thought of the day, and some college news, a cartoon and other items. I would paste it on the notice board for readers’ views. Boys used to take it out and tear it off. And all sorts of comments were made about me to stop me to write the wall paper. This did not deter me. On the other hand it gave me strength that the boys were scared of the idea of a wall paper with news about the school and their turn may come too. The wall paper daily was seen on the notice board with date day and title TORCH was a Daily item on the notice board. I had to keep awake myself late night to prepare the wall paper and it was really a problem to carry such an oblong piece and affix it on the board. In the week-end days I used to bring old issues of Readers Digest and important weekly papers for my material for it. I purchased some books on jokes and crossword puzzles. One day I published news about a professor summoning a girl in the reading room and his favourable treatment to her. Gradually my presence was recognized. The boys and girls were all from princely states, children of famous doctor, lawyer, judge, police chief and they had their own group and gang. I took part in elections. In the first instance I was elected as class representative. Thereafter I was the Secretary of the English Study Circle and then a general secretary. Thereafter my progress knew no bounds. This turned me into a headstrong fearless chap not in the say of anyone in the college. I earned wrath of the Principal professor and everyone in the college. I was an outcast from their circle. I was not welcome in their group. I did not take heed of them. I used to meet high dignitary ministers and invite them for functions and all that. They did not like but they were scared of me that they did not harm me. I knew what I wrote was never appreciated. But I learnt that work was worship. It pays. It did pay in the long run. In my life. I advocated that honesty was not restricted in terms of money but honesty in food behaviour living eating was applicable and all that. With all such activity I became good at inspection that is finding fault. I mastered that I art. What others overlooked, I kept a note of it and used it at a proper time. Such Information in the form of a bombshell created havoc. In practical life too I unknowingly followed this art. I do not speak, I observe. I watch. I wait for him or her to make a mistake. Till then I was silent. Finding a lapse I was the lion and the lion was the lamb. One has to work hard to find mistakes, and once it is found, he is gone. I had an upper hand. I have never stopped.

STOP THIS ONSLAUGHT OF DUMB ANIMALS.

DO NOT KILL THE ANIMALS. In the name of mad cow disease, in Europe and in the USA million cows were slaughtered. What right human-being has to outright slaughter million cows. Is it not genocide? Nature has made cows for a purpose. Similarly in the name of bird-flu billions of chicken all over the world were killed and slaughtered mass-scale. Innumerable poultry farms were destroyed in the name of bird-flu by using carbon monoxide. Is this not genocide? We have no right to destroy on mass scale animals for our selfish ends. What were the save-animals activists doing? Who are we to disturb the balance of Nature? National Geographic Report says that we have exhausted quota of sea-fish. Demand is more than new fish growing under water. We have put huge trawlers in mid-seas. Huge nets are spread to catch tons and tons of fish. They are unloaded in the trawler. A fleet, an army of men is ready to behead them and store it in cold storage. The waste goes back in the ocean. The trawler returns to the shore with tons and tons of ready stuff for use. They make enormous money. In short what I mean to say is we have disturbed the balance of Nature. We will have to pay for it.

HUMAN BODY. WHERE IS MIND? WHAT IS MIND?

WHAT IS MIND ? WHERE IS MIND? Why do we say “What do you mean in your mind?” Why do we not say “What do you mean in your brain?” Why do we not say “What do you mean in your heart?” Difference between mind heart and brain. Mind is with us. Mind is in us. Mind is in the body. Mind is everywhere in the body. When mind is gone, life is gone. Brain is the administrator of the body. Brain is in the Head. Brain controls the body. Brain helps to remember. Brain stores memory. Heart is in the chest. Heart is a mere blood pumping pump. It supplies blood in the body. In Europe, Rene Descartes doubted traditional and theological dogmas. He sought to find why anything can be said to be true. Meditation and thinking on this aspect, revealed a fruitful thought. COGITO ERGOSM I think therefore I am. I exist. This was an attempt to separate Mind and matter. But it was not an answer to the question what is mind? Where is mind? Brain is a thinking machine. It is an administrator of the human body. It has no sentiments. It is a calculator. Heart beats. Heart has sentiments. Heart feels. Heart weeps. Heart loves. Heart hates. Heart is angry. Mind is in the body. It is flowing in the entire body cells. Mind is the supreme self in the body. Mind is life. When man dies, in post-mortem we do not find mind. We find brain. We find heart. There is no mind available in a dead body. Mind is energy. It evaporates with the man’s death. Mind flies away to a distant destination. Indian philosophy calls it rebirth.

DO NOT MISS OPPORTUNITIES IN LIFE. GRAB THEM.

LOST OPPORTUNITY Never lose opportunity when you happen to get it. Opportunity comes rarely in your life. Do not miss it. Lady Luck favours you once or twice in a lifetime. Lady luck favours once or twice, not thrice. Take it. Grab it. Do not let it slip from your hands. Make followers. Make a group of your own. Alone you are nobody. In a group you are somebody. You get voice. Do not spend the time in the house. Move out. You see. House in only for sleep. Do not feel surrounded by your circumstances. Make a way out of it. Come out of everything. Do not carry lot of luggage of worries and ideas and future. Be a judge of your problems. Problems of unimportance be put in cold-storage. All problems cannot be put in cold-storage. You sort out the problems and classify them, whether it is wise to sit tight or take action. Evaluate each problem, try to tackle it.

THE BLAME GAME. ARE CIRCUMSTANCES COMING IN OUR WAY TO PROSPERITY?

Circumstances in life. People are funny. They are impossible. We all come across many of them. People have the tendency to blame all sorts of circumstances for their shortcoming. People believe in luck. Many of them are a bundle of inconsistency. They jump the fence in no time where there is chance. They change like a weathercock. They are simply impossible. It is agreed that luck plays a role in a man’s life. It is not true to credit or to blame luck hundred percent. To blame luck or circumstances wholly, for man’s failure or success is preposterous. Ninety- percent perspiration and ten- percent inspiration is the proper ratio. People always blame circumstances for their ups and downs. Alone circumstances are not responsible. He has to put in his best efforts and mind. People always consider circumstances responsible for their failure or success. We see this factor everywhere. Circumstances are not responsible for man’s ups and downs to the extent they are given blame, or credit. It is our weakness if we blamed circumstances for our failure. People shield themselves by quoting circumstances that caused their ups or downs. They hide themselves behind them. People quote different circumstances the way they want them to be. We all know about it. They are sob-sisters who grumble constantly. People, if they can not find circumstances, they make circumstances to support their case. She was responsible for her circumstances. Her hasty nature was responsible for the mess. She wanted to change her circumstances. She had ceased to believe in luck, or miracles. Not that she had actually believed in miracles. She was a rationalist. She had strong opinion about things. Human being is a rational animal. She had always agreed with her mother’s remark who when once had asked her if she believed in luck, miracles. She had said: She: “No, I am worried of them.”
