CASTOR OIL. (ERANDA OIL).

Uses of Castor Oil. (ERANDA OIL).

In Russia the oil is known as "Kastorka." The stem of the plant is used in the textile industry. The extracted oil has a very consistent viscosity and won't freeze even in Russia's severe climate. This makes it an ideal lubricating oil in industrial equipment. Medicinally, the oil is added to products to restore hair, treat constipation, skin ulcers, some infectious gynecological conditions and eye irritations.

The most common way to use castor oil has been to take it orally. Generally, oral doses are used to correct constipation. The recommended dose is usually 1 tablespoon for adults and 1 teaspoon for children. You can usually expect a "purging" of the system in about four to six hours.

It can also be used as a massage oil which seems to be especially effective when applied along the spinal column. If the oil is massaged into the body, the direction of the massage should always follow the same path.

1. chronic fluid retention with swollen joints and pain
2. arthritis
3. upper respiratory infections involving the sinuses,
tonsils and inner ear
4. colon problems.
5. gallbladder disease
6. boils
7. liver cirrhosis, hepatitis, enlargement or congestion
8. menstrual-related congestion
9. appendicitis
10. hyperactivity
11. constipation, bowel impaction or adhesions
12. swollen lymph nodes
13. bladder and vaginal infections

Castor oil is one of the most widely used plant extracts in the world. The plant hails from the warm regions of India, and now grows in most Mediterranean and tropical zones.

The largest exporters of castor oil include India, Brazil and China, and it is one of the primary exports of Ethiopia. Castor seeds have been found inside ancient Egyptian tombs and the plant’s medicinal properties have been written about by Herodotus, an ancient Greek Historian.

The castor plant is a large, leafy, tropical-looking plant with red or green “beans.” The castor bean is not a true bean; it is a thick round seed with small bumps on the surface.

The seeds and possibly leaves (depending on the plant’s growth) of the castor bean plant are poisonous, containing ricin protein poison.. In fact, raw castor beans can cause illness and even kill.

Vegetable oils are used principally for food and in the manufacture of soap and detergents, in paints and varnishes, and for a variety of other industrial items.

America is the biggest Buyer of  Eranda oil from India.

In Spain and other European Countries it was used to kindle lanterns and wick-lamps.

In 18th century it was being used for oil-burning lamps and for anointing and cooking.
It was also used as a lubricant for wheels of carts and wagons before the petroleum era.

It has a long history of traditional medicinal use.

The oldest traces of its efficacy dates back to ancient India when the artists, dancers, actors applied a drop in their eyes to add brightness before going on stage.

Centuries ago the Eranda  was referred to as an elixir in the Ayur-veda text books of                        Raj-Vaidyas  Charaka and Dhanvantary.

Historical documents reveal that eranda oil was used as a medicine as a lubricator
of inner parts of humans and animals as well and effective to bowels.

It has proved useful in many ways in as much as it has many medicinal and
curative uses in healing the body and healthy skin and hair.  Its use helps to beautify
nails toes eyelash and revitalize the skin when applied to the body

It protects hair by fighting dandruff.  It contains Vitamin E which improves hair-growth,
grows eye-lash, eye-brows.  If hair loss is the problem, castor oil nourishes and
hydrates   the hair and the scalp.

In addition to the uses mentioned previously, eranda oil and its derivatives are used in cosmetics, hair
oils, fungus compounds, embalming fluid, printing inks, soap, lubricants, greases and hydraulic
fluids, dyeing aids, and textile finishing materials.

ARDHA-NARESHVARA. A BODY OF HALF MALE AND HALF FEMALE.

In the Scriptures, Lord Shiva is represented in a variety of forms, in a pacific mood with Parvati and son Skanda, as the cosmic dancer Nataraja, as an ascetic, as a mendicant, as a yogin, and as the androgynous union of Shiva and Parvati in one body, half-male and half-female Ardhanarishvara.

Ardhanarishvara form represents the biological unity of the outward duality, which the human mind has perceived in all things and in the entire creative process. The Vedas have perceived this biological unity in pairs- Agni and Soma, Stri and Purusha, Kumara and Kumari, Pita and Mata, Linga and Yoni, Mahagna and Mahagni, Prana and Aprana, Nara and Nari, Heaven and Earth etc.

The Rigvedic perception of 'Prana' and 'Bhuta'- the life and the matter, which the Rigveda calls Hiranyagarbha, is, more explicit and better defined. In the Hiranyagarbha analogy, 'hiranya' or gold is the 'Prana', the life and 'garbha' the 'Bhuta', the matter.

The Rigveda observes that the cosmos or existence was one single egg but split into two- the 'Prana' and 'Bhuta'. The Rigveda does not elaborate the point any farther but its symbolism moves into two apparent directions. Egg contains both, the life and the matter. When it splits, both fall apart. Besides the lifeless matter, the Egg also yields the matter with life. The Rigveda calls them as 'aprana' and 'saprana'. The matter with life has life but is just the single Egg, the inherent aspect of the female, as by itself it is unable to farther the creative process and it is thus only the inactive 'Bhuta'. It is only after the male energy fertilizes it that it becomes the Golden Egg- the life-bearing one, the Hiranyagarbha of the Rigveda. And, now the Hiranyagarbha- the 'Bhuta' combined with 'Prana', the matter energized by spirit, takes to its own form and defines creation.

The Ardhanarishvara form is, thus, the Golden Egg- the visual perception of the Rigvedic analogy of the Hiranyagarbha that Purusha and Prakriti are inseparable.

JALA RAM BAPA of VIRPUR.

Saint  Jalaram.  (known as Jalaram Bapa.)

Free Food Center Jalaram Bhojanalaya catering  thousands of pilgrims every day,

Free, continuously day and night for the last 188 years uninterrupted.  For the last ten years the temple management do not accept any charge gift donation in cash or kind.  It is free for all.

Born:   (1799-1881)

Place: Jalaram Temple. Virpur near Rajkot Saurashtra.

Wife: Virbai.

Guru; BhojalRam of Fatehpur.

Inspiration.  Idol of Sri Rama and Hanuman.

There are 100 Jalaram Centers functioning in different parts of the country and over-seas.

Today is the 212 birth anniversary of Jalaram Bapa being celebrated all over.

Jalaram  was  saint from Gujarat,  born in Virpur in a lohrana family.

His parents were,   Pradhan Thakkar and Rajbai Thakkar.

He was married to Vir Bai Maa.

Shree Jalaram Bapa was a devotee of Lord Ram.

Jalaram Bapa was however not willing to live household life and continue business of his father.

He was mostly engaged in serving pilgrims, sadhus and saints.

Jalaram Bapa was inclined to completely withdraw from marital life.

Fortunately his wife, Virbaima decided to follow the path of Jalaram.

When Jalaram decided to go for a pilgrimage for holy places like Ayodhya, Kasi,

Badrinath and several other sacred places. Virbaima followed him.

At the age of 18, Jalaram Bapa accepted Shree Bhojal Ram of  Fatehpur as Guru

and was given a "Guru Malaa and Mantra" in the name of Shree Ram.

With blessings of his guru, he started "Sadavrat" a feeding center,at Virpur in 1820,

where sadhus, saints as well as the visitors could have food for free.

Nobody returned from that place without having food.

All this he did single handed with Virbaima assisting him.

Soon his fame spread as an incarnation of the divine Lord Rama.

Whoever come to Virpur, whether Hindu, Muslim or any Religion was fed by Bapa.

This tradition of feeding people continues to this day in Virpur, Gujarat.

The center feeds thousands of visitors every day since the year 1820 and is non-stop continued till today.

Devotees have offered so much money to this temple in the past, that the temple is no longer taking any more donations since 9th February, 2001. Virpur sub-post master spent a whole day signing money orders in the name of Jalaram bapa.

In fact, it is only temple in India to set such a trend to not to take any offerings and donations and continue the feeding to all visitors with love and reverance.

At a time when God himself in the guise of an old Saint told Jalaram Bapa to donate his wife Virbaima to serve him, after having deep sight in heart Jalaram Bapa actually donated Virbai Ma.

After reaching somewhere in forest a saint asked Virbai Ma to wait for him but he never came, this was followed by an Akashwani stating that it was only to test hospitality of the couple, then God came and gave blessings.

He had left a Cane and a Bag, with Virbai Ma, before the saint disappeared and Akashwani followed. This Danda and Jholi are still there at Virpur and are kept in display in a glass enclosure.

In modern time, many devotees of Jalaram have experienced that if they pray to Shree Jalaram Bapa from the depth of their heart, he kindly gives his blessings to them and fulfill their wishes. These experiences are known as "Parachas".

They pray to Jalaram Bapa, that if their wish is fulfilled they would donate some money or grains or do fasting on Thursday or would send their experience  to be printed on Jalaram Jyot - a magazine published from Rajkot.

Due to innumerable Parchas, experienced by many persons, the name & fame of Jalaram Bapahas spread all over the world and his Temple can be found in all parts of India as well as overseas.

Previously, devotees used to send to money to Jalaram Bapa's main temple at Virpur and flow of money never stopped.

However, the Virpur temple has stopped taking any money in cash or cheque since over a decade and is one and only temple in world to do so. Theses "Parachas" are printed in the magazine every month with name & address of devotee, for any can verify it and also the person who sent his experience can come to know that his Paracha has been printed.

Even today Jalaram Bapa's birthday, the seventh day of Kartik month is celebrated as Jalaram Jayanti. On this day various groups of Jalaram devotees feed the food as prasad. This happens at a lot of Jalaram temples throughout India & abroad as well. Jalaram Jayanti is observed on the seventh day after Diwali.

MODERN DAY PROVERBS.

21st Century Proverbs and Sayings.

A woman is dis-appointed when her man lives up to her expectations.

Women dress for women and undress for men.

They love jewels not for them, but for what it will do to other women.

As hem-line goes up, so does his interest.

Men worship women’s breasts.  Worshipping false idols?

Where there is a Will, there is an argument.

While answering a question, cover all other matters except the question.

The Fringe benefits  in which all are interested is Idleness.

Hard work will never make you rich, only tired.

We have a set of values by which we do not live.

Flattery in love is gallantry, in marriage useless.

Money is thicker than blood.

Literature is improved by the people who did not write.

People who have nothing to say, usually continue saying it.

To err is human, to forgive is unusual.

In suburbs, flowers flourish and people wilt.

Feminine virtue is to encourage him with every refusal.

AGA KHAN.

The Aga Khans are the Spiritual Leader of the Ismailias and the Khoja-community.

The First Aga Khan, Hasan Ali Shah (1800-1881). The Shah of Iran had appointed  Hasan Ali Shah as the First Aga Khan, and 46th  Imam in the year 1818, both of the posts he held  from 1818 to 1881 till his death.  After his death his son succeeded  him as the second Aga Khan.

Hasan Ali  at the relevant time was the governor of the Iran province of Kerman and was high in the favor of Shah of Iran. The title Aga Khan chief commander was granted to Aga Hasan in 1818 by the Shah. But thereafter, under the next Shah of Iran Mohammad Shah, however felt his family honor slighted and rose in revolt in 1838 but was defeated and fled to India.

He helped the British in the first Anglo-Afghan War (1839-42) and in the conquest of Sindh (1842-43) and was granted a pension. After he had settled in Bombay, he encountered some opposition from a minority of his followers, who contested the extent of his spiritual authority and in a lawsuit challenged his control over the community's funds, but he won his case in 1866.

The term Khoja is not a religious designation but a purely caste distinction that was carried over from the Hindu background of the group. Thus, there are Sunnite Khojas and Shi'ite Khojas. Other Nizari Isma'ilis share the same beliefs, practices, and even language with the Khojas. However, one cannot enter the caste except by birth.

Khojas live primarily in India and East Africa. Every province with large numbers of them has an Isma'ili council, the decisions of which are recognized as legal by the state. As Nizari Isma'ilis, Khojas are followers of the Aga Khan.

ELEPHANTA CAVES.

The Elephanta island is located in Bombay, about 6 mile from Gateway of India.

Elephanta Island has an area of 4-6 square miles, varying with the tide. In the early 16th century Portuguese navigators named the island Ilha Elefante , Elephant Island in reference to a large stone elephant that was found there; the statue was later moved to Victoria Garden, Bombay. The island's Hindi name, Gharapuri, derives from a small village at its southern end.

Elephanta's famous 8th- and 9th-century cave temples were added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1987.

Atop a large hill, they occupy some 54,800 square feet. The main temple is a long hall stretching 90 feet, carved into the rock on the walls and ceiling of the cave are rows of columns and crossbeams. The plan of the temple is such that important points are laid out in the form of a mandapa. A series of sculptured panels lining the walls of the cave portrays images from  mythology, the most celebrated of which is the 20-foot,  high Trimurti,  the famous three-headed Shiva posture in the role of destroyer, preserver, and creator emerging from a mountain.

Other sculptures depict Shiva crushing Ravana with his toe, the marriage of Shiva and Parvati, Shiva bringing the Ganges to earth by letting her flow through his hair, and Shiva as the embodiment of cosmic energy, dancing to drums.

A linga is housed in a sanctuary at the western end of the temple. When the island was ceded to the Portuguese by the Sultan of Ahmedabad in the 16th century, it ceased to be a place of worship, and the caves and sculptures were damaged by Portuguese soldiers. In the 1970s the temples were restored and preserved, and the island became a popular tourist site.

HISTORY OF MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS.

May Day.

May 1 day is for traditional springtime celebrations, probably originating in pre-Christian agricultural rituals. Though local usage varied widely, these celebrations commonly included the carrying in procession of trees, green branches, or garlands; the appointment of a May king and May queen; and the setting up of a May tree or Maypole. Originally such rites were intended to ensure fertility to the crops, and by extension to cattle and human beings, but in most cases this significance was gradually lost, and the practices survived merely as popular festivities. A widespread superstition held that washing the face in the May Day morning dew would beautify the skin.

May Day was designated as an international labor day by the International Socialist congress of 1889. It was a major holiday in the Soviet Union and other Communist countries, and elsewhere it was the occasion for important political rally.

India started observing May Day since 1926. First May day procession was held in Madras.

In the chapter on "The Working Day" in the first volume of Capital, published in 1867, Marx calls attention to the inauguration of the 8-hour movement by the National Labor Union. In the passage, famous especially because it contains Marx's telling reference to the solidarity of class interests between the Negro and white workers, he wrote:

In the United States of America, any sort of independent labor movement was paralyzed so long as slavery disfigured a part of the republic. Labor with a white skin cannot emancipate itself where labor with a black skin is branded. But out of the death of slavery a new vigorous life sprang. The first fruit of the Civil War was an agitation for the 8-hour day – a movement which ran with express speed from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from New England to California.

Marx calls attention to how almost simultaneously, in fact within two weeks of each other, The first fruit of the Civil War was an agitation for the 8-hour day – a movement which ran with express speed from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from New England to California.

QUAWWALI MUSIC.

Qawwali music originated in Persia in the 12th century.
It is characterized by simple melodies, forceful rhythms,
and wild improvisations intended to stir the audience into a euphoric state.
The music is based upon medieval poems that reflect religious faith
through images of romantic love.

The qawwal memorizes these poems, and he then uses
phrases and passages from different poems to create
a new expression or idea.
The performance is marked by passionate shouting and dancing.
As in other gospel music, qawwali uses repetition and a series of
emotional peaks and rests to intoxicate the audience.

Usually accompanied by tabla, harmonium, and backing vocals,
the Maestro Qawwal Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sang in a very high pitch
and had a powerful and highly expressive voice.
Perhaps his most exceptional qualities were his melodic creativity and
legendary stamina. He had been known to perform for 10 hours.

Bollywood influenced the development of the qawwali in several ways.

The filmi qawwali also set the precedent for the showy quality

that one finds in modern performances.

Another effect of the filmi qawwali was the downgrading of the

religious and devotional aspect.

A typical example of a filmi qawwali is "Sharam ke Kyun Sab"

from the film "Chaudvin ka Chand".

Female characters also participated like a duel male

versus the female casting sarcasm and challenge between one another.

NO NEED TO BE ROYAL THAN THE KING.

Dont’t be Royal than the King.

King is king.

We are nothing.

King is King even, he may be in his under-thing,

Want to say about King, something?

King is King even he may be smoking,

Want to say about King something?

King is King even he may be drinking,

Want to say about King something?

King is King even he may be doing everything,

Want to say about King something?

King is King he can do everything,

Let us quit and run out of this ring.

You can say about King something.

We do not say about King anything.

Well ! let us all sing about the King.

LIFE CIRCLE.

We need religion for religion’s sake.

We need morality for morality’s sake.

We need art for art’s sake.

We need sports for sport’s sake.

We need films for film’s sake.

We need politics for politics’ sake.

We were like the four serpents,

“Four snakes gliding up and down a hollow,”

“for nothing, for no purpose, not to eat, not to love,”

“But only gliding.”

“Nature is a wise father, that knows its child.”

Nature said “they must not do things for fun.”

“Nature felt that they should work.”

“He created the woman.”

‘Love ruled the world”

‘Jealousy, envy competition began.”

“Now they needed homes to keep their dames.”

“So homes were made.”

“Women and elephants do not forget injury.”

“Man was engaged in revenge and killing.”

“Nature felt now they will keep busy”

“In the wanted works of art,”

“The master’s stroke is Nature’s part.”

“At last man realised that kissing did not last. Cookery does.”

So man searched for food.

“There is no love sincere than love of food.”

So they were made to work.

So they were taught to develop agriculture.

This is how life developed.

Man invented the tools.

Without tools, man felt himself helpless and useless.

With tools he is everything.

They were taught to draw images on the wall.

And the world of all art developed.

Everything is necessary to keep him busy.

Man invented machines and that is how

Fabrics and clothes were made.

Blessed were they when they had no talent.

With talent they forget to enjoy life.

In this way life circle circles around life.

“To what avail the plow or the sail?

Or land or life, if happiness fail?

PRESENTDAY SADHUS THE SAGES.

Present day Sadhus have been businessmen. They have CEO

to arrange their schedule and their affairs.
They invest their income in stock-markets and mutual funds.

In the scriptures, the Sadhus sages are meant to keep moving.

They have no fixed place.  The world is their place.

Now the pattern has changed.  Every sage has a fixed headquarters.  He has telephones cell-phones internet and fleet of cars, provision of security guards. They enjoy all luxury of life.

The present day so called sages have arms-licence to hold arms pistols and revolvers in the name of self protection.  Religion has turned out a profession.  It is a business service station and a repair shop.  Now temples have turned out places of business.  They are not places of religion.  In the name of religion it is a meeting place of people to trade business talk business and conduct business.

They have politicians as their supporters.  The government machinery is at their disposal.

Everybody is subject to religion.

No man is above religion.

Religion is inter-woven in the life of every one.

None can dare to oppose the religion.

The sky is the limit for the religious heads for everything.

WISDOM, MATURITY COMES FROM HARDSHIP.

WISDOM COMES FROM SUFFERING AND HARDSHIP.

In common parlance, wisdom is judgment, insight, will, common-sense, rationality, sapience sagacity, profundity, enlightenment, erudition, knowledge intelligence, learning prudence, intuition.

Suffering is agony, anguish, distress, misery, pain, grief, torment,

woe, heartache, affliction, trial, ordeal, burden, torture,

injury, wound, hurt, pain, ache, pang, stab, and sting.

With a plate of coarse rice for eats,

With a jug of water for drinks,

And my bended arms as pillows,

I have joy in the midst of sorrows.

“What is time for supper?”

For Anil, whenever he chooses.

For Arun, whenever he can.

Poverty has kept more homes together, than divided.

Wealth has divided more houses than kept together.

Ambani’s houses are new, prejudices are old.

One half of the nation is ill-housed.

One half of our people are ill-clad.

One half of our people are ill-nourished.

So little done, so much to do !

What crimes are committed in the name of progress ?

What money is collected in the name of religion?

What  scams are operated in the name of prosperity ?

Oh ! my country, when and where will all this end?

Man Vs. Woman.

Adam Vs. Eve.

The wise never marry. After marriage they be otherwise.

Love ceases to be pleasant when it ceases to be a secret.

I am not a jealous woman but I don’t know what he sees in her.

Give me that man who is not passion’s slave.

The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world.

A Woman seeks a Tiger in her Man.

Forewarned is Fore-armed.

A woman wishes a Tiger in her life.

They will not admit. That is the beauty of it.

They will deny and deny.  No is no negative in a girl’s mouth.

That is the beauty of it. They can offend and will make up at their pleasure.

She wavers, she hesitates; in a word, she is a woman.

They win the battle of love mostly at college level in their play-fields.

Seeing is believing. Gold and woman attract everyone.

Girls pull the boys to them as a nail is pulled by a magnet.

What we anticipate seldom occurs, what we least expect happens.

The Boy is hooked, booked and cooked.

As unto the Bow is the Cord,

So unto the Man is the Woman.

Though She bends Him;  She obeys Him.

Though She draws Him;  She follows Him.

Useless Each other without Each.

Love sought is good but given unsought is better.
