We need religion
for religion’s sake.
We need morality
for morality’s sake.
We need art for
art’s sake.
We need sports
for sport’s sake.
We need films for
film’s sake.
We need politics
for politics’ sake.
We were like the
four serpents,
“Four snakes
gliding up and down a hollow,”
“for nothing, for
no purpose, not to eat, not to love,”
“But only
gliding.”
“Nature is a wise
father, that knows its child.”
Nature said “they
must not do things for fun.”
“Nature felt that
they should work.”
“He created the
woman.”
‘Love ruled the
world”
‘Jealousy, envy
competition began.”
“Now they needed
homes to keep their dames.”
“So homes were
made.”
“Women and
elephants do not forget injury.”
“Man was engaged
in revenge and killing.”
“Nature felt now
they will keep busy”
“In the wanted
works of art,”
“The master’s
stroke is Nature’s part.”
“At last man
realised that kissing did not last. Cookery does.”
So man searched for food.
“There is no love
sincere than love of food.”
So they were made
to work.
So they were taught
to develop agriculture.
This is how life
developed.
Man invented the
tools.
Without tools,
man felt himself helpless and useless.
With tools he is
everything.
They were taught
to draw images on the wall.
And the world of
all art developed.
Everything is
necessary to keep him busy.
Man invented
machines and that is how
Fabrics and
clothes were made.
Blessed were they
when they had no talent.
With talent they
forget to enjoy life.
In this way life circle circles around life.
“To what avail
the plow or the sail?
Or land or life,
if happiness fail?
