Following coition “ghusl” (total wash) was in order.
For this purpose, the barge was equipped with a bath-place.

As the saying goes:

“The ghusl-ablution or one’s feet meaning
“Wash thoroughly after lying with a woman, or no horse worth its salt will permit to mount it.”

“Have no connection with the woman in the bath, for its consequence is palsy;
Nor do thou lie with her when thou art full, or when thou art empty, nor when thou art drunken with wine nor when thou art in wrath, nor when thou art lying on thy side,
nor when thou art under fruit bearing tree, for that it occasioneth the swelling of the testicles, for she taketh from thee and giveth not to thee.”

El-mendeel (handkerchief) was carried by the female who used to wipe away the ooze of copulation.
