Winter Olympics 2010- Vancouver.
The 2010- Winter Olympics Vancouver was declared open this evening
by GOG Michelle John in presence of IOC President Jack Rogges.
The premature death of Luger Competition participant Nodar from Georgia brought a cloud of gloom and sorrow all over.
Shiva Keshavan Indian Luger Olympics participant remarked at this loss.
“It was very hard,” Keshavan said. “All of us had a meeting at the village and thought of how we could remember him, how we could honour his memory, his ideals, what he fought for. Even going down to the opening ceremony, it was hard. Everybody was trying to pull me up saying you still
have to have your part. Cheer up.”
Limca Book of Records Fame, Shiva Keshvan, Indian Flag Bearer, and the Indian Olympics Team proudly marched into the Vancouver Winter Olympics
Stadium in Vancouver on Friday Evening.
It was a wait than usual to see the Indian Team march into the stadium but the wait was worth.
“It is something you live sometimes in your life time” said Shiva Keshavan.
He is the first Indian Luger to participate in IOC Luger competition-gliding on Ice miles long gliding sloped strip at a speed of 150 KM. in a sledge.
He had his career in Italy but he has settled himself in Shimla.
