Our Religion.

It is already becoming clear that a chapter which had a western beginning will have an Indian ending if it is not to end in self-destruction of the Human race.  At this supremely dangerous moment in human history the only way of salvation is the Hindu Way. Here we have the attitude and the spirit that can make it possible for the human race to grow together into a single family. =Dr.A.J.Toynbee. Briitish Historian in his 12 volumes of A Study of History.

Dr.Arnold Joseph Toynbee recognized the tolerance of Hinduism and Buddhism which he contrasted with the exclusivity of Jewish belief that the Jews are the God’s chosen people. He claims that this plague of exclusiveness was inherited by the Christians and Muslims and hence the reason for all the religious  violence in the world.

Again he has added,  “There may or may not be only one single absolute truth and one ultimate way of salvation. We do not know. But we do know that there are more approaches to Truth than one and more means of salvation than one.  This is a hard saying for the adherents of  other religions but it is a truism for Hindus.  The Spirit of mutual good will esteem and veritable love is the traditional spirit of the family of Indian Religions.  This is one of India’s gifts to the world.”

Dr. Toynbee has predicted that  “At the close of the twentieth century and the world was dominated by the West, but in the Twenty-First century India will conquer her conquerors.”  “India is a whole world in itself, she is a society of the same magnitude as the western society.”  “ India is not only the heir of its own religious traditions, she is also the residuary legatee of the Ancient Mediterranean world’s religious traditions.”  “Religion cuts far deeper and at the religious level, India has not been a recipient, she has been a river. About half the total number of living higher religions are of Indian origin.”

The First Manu Satya Vritta  million years ago was self born. The First Manu,Satyavrita and wife Shatrupa had ten sons and a daughter Ela.  He is the author of  the Manu-Smrti. He is the first king, In the great flood, the Matsya Purana recounts how he was warned by the Holy Fish, to whom he had done a kindness, that a flood would destroy the whole of humanity.

In the Mahabharata, the Holy Fish is identified with the Lord Brahma, while in the Puranas, it is Matsya, the first incarnation of the lord Vishnu on this Earth.

He therefore built a boat, when the flood came, he tied this boat to the Holy Fish and the holy snake Vasuki as the rope and  was safely steered to a resting place on the Malaya mountaintop. When the flood receded, Manu, the sole human survivor, performed a sacrifice, pouring oblations of butter and sour milk into the waters. After a year there was born from the waters Lady Shutrupa.  These two then became the ancestors of a new human race to replenish the earth.
