Natural Resources.
Our Planet Earth is not a dead rock. It is like a strange but complicated
gigantic
machine. The machine has to be
powered so that it can work. Earth gets
its
power from the Sun. Sun
drives Earth’s climate, winds, waves, rainfall etc.
Moreover
beneath the surface of the Earth there is a molten core. This molten
core is another source of heat, power and energy. Much of the present day technology is associated
with these basic resources available on the Earth.
Water Resources.
The Oceans cover more than one-third of the planet. Making use of its potential is therefore vital. Waves of Water have to be used to drive
generators as a means of
producing Electric Power without polluting the atmosphere. Portugal has developed a wave-farm
where the sea water drives electric generators at hydro-electric power
plants.
The Earth like
any other machine does not need a spanner in the works.
Wind Power.
Offshore Turbines can convert the wind energy into power to
generate electricity.
Norway was the first
country to implement the wind power to generate Electricity.
Solar Power.
The Sun Energy has to be harnessed to power cars planes
space-craft and other vehicles. Solar energy is also used
to heat homes and provide Electricity.
Geo-Thermal Power.
The Heat stored in the bowels under the ground of the Earth
can be harnessed and
tapped for power. At some spots,
there are natural springs of hot water.
Presently it is seen
that a hole is drilled into the hot water springs spot down to hot
water rock. Water has to be pumped down
such a hole. The poured water shall turn into steam which
would shoot up to power a turbine or a generator.
Geo-thermal Power Plants do not require any fuel nor do they produce any
harmful gases.
Newzealand has developed such geo-thermal power plants to harness
Earth’s inner Heat.
The distance to the center of the Earth from the surface is roughly 4000
miles.
