NATURE'S GIFT. THE COCONUT.

Cocoanut Oil Bath.

A scene on the brinks of Kozhikode Calicut, on the sea-shore.

“There are sheds wherein one shed is increasingly getting popular.”

It performs the Kaya-Kalpa treatment. You are soaked in Coconut Oil in a drum for hours.

A wooden drum is filled with Coconut Oil.

You are dumped in the drum and soaked and suffocated in Coconut  Oil from head to toe.

Two men drag you out, left to lie down on a mat in sun-heat in open on the beach-sands.                                               When the body has absorbed the oil, again the same cycle is repeated.                                                                                                                                                                                                                             You are left on the mat to dry. In the process you swallow a lot of oil.

They clean the nose, ears and the stomach. A thin layer of cloth is passed through the nostrils. When the stomach is washed, you will find sickening sticky cough and beetle nut pieces and such other things recovered from the stomach, weighing about a kilo.

This is a process from morning to evening. It is oiling and servicing the human body.

The bowels release vicious stored gas and secretion.

After the process is over, you are advised to take rest and very light food for a week.”

In the olden days before 50 years, the charge was INR 5000. Now it may be ten times.
