Everyone suffers an occasional restless night. Many factors are
responsible for it. Caffeine or an upset stomach can cause you ruin
your beauty sleep. But frequent insomnia is a matter of concern
and needs your attention. Some commonly used remedies alcohol
or over the counter available medications do complicate the things.
Alcohol is the most commonly used item for inducing sleep.
It may help in the beginning, it may disturb your sleep pattern in the long run.
He begins to develop a tolerance to alcohol and requires to increase the quota
for the same amount of sleep. Gradually alcohol is ineffective to induce sleep.
It is known that everyone who complains of insomnia, out of them only
less than half actually suffer therefrom. Studies indicate that many people
sleep more than they think they do. One third of the people suffering from insomnia
get as much sleep as normal individuals. Some think that they are losing if they sleep
less than six to seven hours. Sleep hours quota varies from person to person. It
generally ranges from four hours to eight hours. Some feel that they do not sleep
as they used to sleep in their early years of life.
There are many factors for no sleep in the night. A nap during the day time interferes
with a full night’s sleep. Other reasons contributing to this is frequent going to pee
in the night due to an enlarged prostate gland or breath problem or coughing.
Moreover the quality and quantity of sleep does vary from age to age.
Older people spend more time in light sleep almost half awake. Their sleep is
disturbed by frequent awakenings. These life changes reflect in our sleep pattern
and the life relating problems that frequently occur due to old age can not be
classified as symptoms of insomnia.
