First Aid.
What we anticipate, seldom occurs;
What we least expected, generally happens.

Emergencies can happen any time. It may be the house, the office or when we are in the car. We hear of unfortunate stories of accidents which could have been prevented with
First Aid measures. If we know what we can do, it can save lives. Stay calm. Do not loose your patience. What you need to know is easy safety tips, first aid, supplies and awareness till help comes. Some hints may help. They are as under.

l. Keep a first aid kit box in the house and one in the car.
2. Use First Aid and life saving techniques, and call emergency number.
Affix on the kit box important call numbers in an emergency.
Remember the four B’s. Breathing. Bleeding. Broken Bones and Burns.

3. Make the home safe, against Carbon monoxide, gas leak and fire.

If there is heavy bleeding from wounds, stop bleeding. Call emergency van.
If there is head injuries, look for lump, wound, cut. pain or unconsciousness.
Do not remove objects like glass splinters nail etc from wound. Call medical help.
4.Food poisoning. Food quality, when in doubt, throw it out.
5.Electric injuries. Make sure electric current is off before touching the victim.
6.Allergic reaction. Look for blisters, sneezing red face swelling of tongue ears face.
7.Fainting. let him sit down head between the knees. Do not give any drink.
Poisoning. Blood vomit. look for container, keep it. Call emergency. no time waste.

Disasters like flood fire earthquakes. Choke out a basic line of action in your mind.
It is the job of the head of the family to have plan for eviction in such times.
Give a thought in your mind how would you react in an emergency to save family.
A thought in this direction will help you to save your family and you will not be taken
unawares.
