What information is contained in a copy-right page?
The copy right page in each and every book, contains a
copy right notice which stipulates that the rights of the book
are reserved as of a particular period in the name of a particular
publishing house.
It contains the full address of the publisher, edition and category
and a catalogue card for easy library purposes.
Another important piece of information on the copy right page
is the ISBN. (International Standard Book Number).
The ISBN is an identification number assigned to every book
published which is used for the purpose of ordering the particular book.
Several digits and numbers of the ISBN stand for specific details :-
Take for example an ISBN number which reads: ISBN 0-590-81917-8.
The First digit indicates the language of the book. A zero stands for English.
The next three digits indicate the publisher. Each publisher is assigned
a three digit code. The next five digits is the number of the book in question.
The last number is a checking number. In all there are ten digits.
