Palmistry was developed as an off suit of astrology.
The shape of hand and the palm-lines revealed a science.
The first finger of the hand is the Finger of Jupiter.
With Jupiter in powerful house in the horoscope,
his first finger would have a large and developed mount.
If this finger was short or crooked, and the mount
was hollow or depressed, Jupiter held inferior position.

Mount of Venus.

A large and developed Mount of Venus in the palm
reveals sensual side of the person under observation.

The above Mount of Venus analysis is corroborated
by medical evidence that the great palmer arch, the main blood
vessel from the body pass under the mount of Venus.
If this blood vessel is extra large, the mount gets more developed.
