The Height of absent-mindedness.
This attitude is seen among artists writers and celebrities.
They are involved in their own world of ideas and whims.
They eat drink mechanically. Their mind is traveling elsewhere.
Teaching a Fish to Swim.
How would you feel in such a position?
My friend Mary was returning to India from a long stay in USA.
She found herself some time to spend at Heathrow airport.
She bought a cup of coffee and a small pack of biscuits.
She staggered laden with luggage to an unoccupied table.
She was reading when she felt aware of some rustling at her table.
From behind her paper she saw a neatly dressed young man helping
himself with her biscuits.
She not wanting to make a scene,leaned across and took one for herself.
A minute or so passed.
More rustling. He was enjoying a second biscuit.
By the time they were down to the last piece, she was real angry.
She could not bring herself to say anything, out of embarrassment.
Then the young man broke the remaining last biscuit into two,
passed half across to her. He ate the other half. He then left leisurely.
She was fuming all the while,quite red.
When the desk-team asked her for boarding pass.
Imagine her state of mind when she opened her handbag.
Her biscuit packet was lying there mocking at her.
She exclaimed “Oh No!
